About

My full name is like the title of this page, Sofía Hidalgo. Accent included. I am now 25 years old and am a proud Texan (El Paso, Texas) . Like I have mentioned, I graduated with a BS in Biochemistry, and a minor in Neuroscience in Research. The studies of this field have always fascinated me.  How we can improve technologies and understanding how the world around us affects us and how we affect it, is something very attractive to me.  Biochemistry brings an exciting component to what it means to be alive.

It's with Neuroscience that I've found my factorial passion, however. My hope is that with investigation and research,  we can learn how to shape our minds into being the healthiest possible. Additionally, I believe that institutional education has lacked the leading factor that pertains to learning, this is why I'm interested in studying ALL- biochemical, educational, and neurological process of magical learning.

As a UTeach student, I participated in clinical educational environments thus far in elementary, middle, and high school classrooms. I also worked with High School Academic Counsel mentoring at Community Engagement Outreach as well as with Developmental  Neurolingusitic Research Investigation with the Callier Center at The University of Texas at Dallas

It is with my experience teaching and writing curriculum at Success Academy, however, that I have gained a wider perspective on what it means to educate, to transfer knowledge, and understand adolescent behavior and reasoning.

Mission

My mission is to improve the value of education. Not only systematic education, but the overall value we place on it in our daily lives. The brain, learning, and mind has shown to be so powerful in the past years with scientific evidence leading the way to improve the way we conduct ourselves and continue to gain and create knowledge. I hope that with educational neuroscientific research, I can contribute to the burning desire of learning and ignition of curiosity.

Vision

Challenges and challenging minds are on the rise. With evolving research, come new ways in which we can learn how to take care of our brain, live to our fullest potential, and pass on the foundations of what nourishes our mind, body, and soul. I wont say what education is not. I rather lead with what education is and what it can become. As an educator, a scientist, a scholar- I envision my focus to center around creating a better methodology to learning and discovering the intrinsics of neuroplasticity. Exploration, intuition, and different areas of cognition feed what we call learning and innovating.

A little more..

In addition to my academic focus and professional drive, I love to play tennis and explore the outdoors. As a person dedicated to curiosity, I find it fascinating to observe our nature and surround myself with it. I will also always be ready to learn about different and new cultures, experiences, wisdoms, and histories. Whether that'd be thru travel, reading, or exposition, I am forever bound to being amazed by our world, its surroundings, and its people. Past, present, and future.

I consider myself to be a person with initiative spirit that has always had the desire of transforming the way institutions and learners approach education. I'm focused on generating solutions to better living and brain sustainability. My most recent work involved working on Neurolinguistics in Bilingual Environments and how this affects memory, learning, and cognition on children 3-7 years old. I hope to have exciting news to share soon about our findings.
