Hello!
Welcome to my page
Let me introduce myself..
My name is Sofia, I am 25 years old and I am proudly from El Paso, Texas.
I graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas in May 2022, where I studied Biochemistry and Neuroscience as an undergraduate student. I also pursued a minor in STEM Education with a Science Teaching Certification of grades 7-12th. To further understand education from an educator's perspective, I relocated to New York City to write and teach Chemistry curriculum at the High School level. The skills, knowledge, and experience I learned in this area have equipped me to be more cognizant about adolescent reasoning and learning. Looking forward, my interest in learning, memory, and cognition have made me determined to enroll in Graduate school and concentrate on the emerging field that is Educational Neuroscience.
I have been actively involved in education and research investigation that pertains to the areas of learning improvement, as I strongly believe research and science can massively contribute to change the ways in which education is conducted and approached today. I believe that the optimization of education is the most important challenge for me to focus my attention on, and I consider the study of the human brain a stepping stone to understanding learning and memory idiosyncrasies. I hope that I can make significant and meaningful contributions to the process of knowing and learning in these ways.
Putting my Grain of Sand- What I am all about!
With this page, I hope that I can organize my passions, desires, and findings.
As an ever- evolving scholar, I continue to explore new endeavors, an abundant amount of ideas, and face innovative thinking. It is important to self indulge the concept of continuous learning.
My blogs will focus mostly around things I consider important for people to learn. In no way am I an expert in any area I talk about. I will simply express my opinion and the significance I believe any specific idea has on what I am writing about. This will always be an open space that welcomes and fosters learning.
With the, dare I say; stagnation of education, systematic institutions have blended into what once was privilege for a selected few. Education has "progressed" from what once was, but has the way we approach learning really evolved?
In this page, I will explore the challenges of our current educational box. I will connect topics including the understanding of our brain, with education and learning. The main focus will be to outline the vital role science plays in these areas.
